VII 2004 BIOHAZARD are currently in the studio finishing up their new album, tentatively
due before the end of the year through SPV Records worldwide (the band's last
two albums were released through the Sanctuary label in the U.S.). "We've been
writing and recording in our own studio (UndergroundSound Studios)," BIOHAZARD
guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "The songs are
awesome, back to the 'Urban Discipline'/'State of the World Address'-style of
BIOHAZARD... I went back to the traditional tunings of BIOHAZARD and challenged
myself to pull the heaviness out of the riffs and not the low tuning of A, like
our last album ('Kill or be Killed'). "[I'm] not sure on what will happen
next with BIOHAZARD, just right now we're psyched about this album," Billy
added. "As of now there is no title. But the album is coming out worldwide on
SPV along with a DVD included with the package..."

VI 2003 Evan Seinfeld was recently asked by FoundryMusic.com, "If there
was one celebrity you could punch in the face as hard as you could without any
repercussions/punishment/lawsuit, who would it be and why?" Seinfeld
replied, "[LIMP BIZKIT's] Fred Durst, because although he sells
millions of records, he remains a jealous hater, signing bands to shelf them —
in other words, buying out his competition. I'm tired of his whining…so he gets
no pussy, 'cuz he is one. Must he sing in that whining like a spoiled
five-year-old voice? I'd love to silence the bastard once and for
all."
In the same interview, Seinfeld was asked about the
"earlier" days of BIOHAZARD when the band were writing songs with more of
an Aryan tone ("Master Race", "America") compared to their later
efforts, which were a little more forgiving ("Shades of Grey", "Black
And White And Red All Over"). Why the change in politics? Was it a
deliberate act to cater to a larger audience? Says Seinfeld: "The songs
on the first demo were meant to shock, be vague, and get your attention. We
never were racist, but it was a great attention-getter to use metaphoric lyrics,
and people like yourself, who didn't read any on the lyrics, must feel stupid
right now after reaching so far, and coming up with nothing. Bet you don't feel
so clever anymore. 'Master Race' [which features the lines 'Fighting for
our freedom / working all in stride / we'll march across the world / with
American Nazi pride'—ed.] is a song about uniting all the underground kids, from
punk, hardcore, metal, rap…street people — and rising up, like in [the movie]
'The Warriors'. read the whole interveiew here. "

by Schuler. As a bonus, the CD features a brand-new, acoustic version of
"Voices".
The live tracks were recorded live at Irving Plaza in
New York City when AMONG THIEVES opened for LIFE OF AGONY at their
sold-out reunion shows this past January. European and U.S. distribution for the

IV 2003 Evan Seinfeld has once again hit out at the group's current record label,
Sanctuary Records, for their failure to properly promote the group's
albums, saying that "our record company sucks" and claiming that "they don't
fucking do any marketing, any promotion" for any of their bands. When asked by
RockConfidential.com in a recent interview if their record label now is
"more open to just letting [them] be a rock band and not worrying about all the
bullshit that goes along with a major label," Evan replied, "We've never
had any creative control put on us. Nobody ever told us to tone it down. We have
fans. When you hear stories about a record label wanting a band to do this or
that it's usually because they don't have any fans and they're trying to mold
them. We have our hardcore, die-hard fans and we know how to reach them. As far
as the record company, our record company sucks. They don't fucking do anything
for us. Our record company gives us money to make an album, but they have gotten
us zero mainstream press outside of the metal world. They don't fucking do any
marketing, any promotion. We made them hire Jamie from HATEBREED
to market our record because he knows the kids better than they do. My
experience is just terrible. They exploit...it's people making money off your
own shit." When asked if he had a different opinion when the band first started,
Seinfeld said, "I like being on a major label. Even if they didn't know
shit from shineola they at least put a ton of fuckin' money behind you and said,
'Hey, how do you guys want us to market your record?' We wanted our posters up
in skate shops and motorcycle shops and they would just do it. Sanctuary
don't do anything . . . There are too many bands. How many bands has
Sanctuary broken? They haven't broken a single band . . . They sign
established acts and I don't think any one of those acts that have signed with
Sanctuary have had their record sales increase. I know for us through
Sanctuary, they fuckin' went way down in the U.S. We sell a lot more
records in Europe. We're on a different label. In America, your gross potential
to sell records is way more than Europe. Europe is a much smaller market than
America. We sell more records in the smaller market in Europe. New York is a
hundred times bigger market than Knoxville — that would be like us selling more
records in Knoxville. Our album sales have never waned in Europe. There's no
commercial radio in Europe. Here, people are like, 'Fuck, I better buy that
because it's on the radio.' I get emails from a lot of fans that don't even know
we have a new album. It kinda sucks, ya know? It's counterproductive. We've
never stopped working for ourselves. We don't give up — even if the record
company does."
In the same interview, Seinfeld accuses several
media outlets of a campaign to spread false information about him and once again
singles out BLABBERMOUTH.NET as "the worst website in rock," before
adding that "that [site] is 100% bullshit. Everything I've ever read about
myself on there is totally false. Those people are fuckin' ninkompoops. They're
morons. I emailed them and said I wanted to talk to someone over there and set
the record straight on some things. They never emailed me back. They're probably
scared." [Editor's note: For the record, no such e-mail was ever received by
BLABBERMOUTH.NET] When pressed to name some of things out there that
bother him that he wants to set straight, Evan said, "Everything. They
just make up things...Like Evan and [fiancee] Tera
[Patrick] are doing porno movies together. Gossip originates from people
whose lives are so boring that they have to make up things about other people's
lives. If it was true, it wouldn't be called gossip, it would be called news.
This stuff comes from people who have no friends. Then they get new friends —
Jenny, Montel, Ricki, ya know? I don't mind people talking
shit about us. They more people talk about you, the more people want to be you
or be like you. If people hate on you, it's because they're jealous. Period.
They just keep making us more famous, bro."

IV 2003 Danny Schuler has posted a statement on the band's official web site,
backing BIOHAZARD frontman Evan Seinfeld's words of support for the troops in Iraq and attacking PEARL
JAM singer Eddie Vedder for his public bashing of President
Bush's foreign policy:
"What the hell is wrong with Eddie Vedder?" Schuler wrote.
"Bashing George Bush? You have the right not to agree with Bush
and his foreign policy, this 'WAR' is totally fucked, but don't let the troops
fighting for us see that lack of support!!! They are the ones fighting for your
freedom while you relax in your Million $$$ home and stupify yourself with
drugs, count your Sony money, and screw groupies! What are you bitching
about! Someone fill this guys bong and sit him the fuck down before he hurts
himself...You may or may not agree with what the U.S. is doing in the Middle
east, but you gotta support our soldiers, real men and women unafraid to fight
for our freedom!! This war SUCKS, but our people are over there, and we want
them home and this war over ASAP! Sorry, I hate it when musicians try to get all
political, but that was some stupid shit that idiot did. Fuck 'em!! Now more
than ever, PEACE."

08
IV 2003 Evan Seinfeld has slammed AUDIOSLAVE
guitarist Tom Morello and SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj
Tankian over their continuous criticism of President Bush's foreign
policy, saying that the outspoken duo should respect their country or "pack
[their] shit and leave." Check out the whole interview with Evan here.

III 2003 Evan has slammed the band's U.S. label, Sanctuary
Records, over the lack of promotional and marketing push given to the
group's last two studio CDs, claiming that the company is solely to blame for
the group's diminishing popularity this side of the Atlantic. When asked by HitThePit.com
how being on
Sanctuary has changed things for the band in terms of exposure and
opportunities, Seinfeld responded, "Sanctuary has single handedly
destroyed my hopes of BIOHAZARD ever breaking through to the next level.
With thousands of bands, on hundreds of labels all pushing hard, it became
discouraging when they don't want to spend any real money to keep up with the
Jones! Like bands that totally suck come out, get radio play, play
Ozzfest... but yet they may be gone in two years! We outlive it all!
Labels! Trends! If you are in a band, just stay true to your music, it will live
forever! Everything else is fuckin' bullshit! The music industry is wack! For
your knowledge....every band you see on the second stage of Ozzfest paid
$75,000 to Sharon to get there! That's doesn't mean they are good, that
means they have money! They (Ozzfest) will not put any bands on that have
history like BIOHAZARD, unless you have a big radio push! Labels need to
spend several hundred thousand dollars to get a song played. Without money you
probably can't get any big tours! We play a lot in Europe, that's where it is
real for us. Not so trendy there...we sell out clubs there without gay
MTV!"

II 2003 As we reported on earlier Evan is suffering from an undiagnosed health problem. However, despite rumors
floating around about Seinfeld being stricken with a brain tumor, he says
that his illness is not life-threatening.
"We're closer to figuring out
what it is," Seinfeld revealed. "I don't have HIV, I don't have AIDS, I
don't have a brain tumor, I don't have cancer. These are things we all know,
so to dispel any rumors about me being terminally ill and all that. They
know exactly what it's not, and they've narrowed it down. They ruled out
anything life-threatening at this point."
"Before we were set out to
do this KITTIE tour, which I really didn't want to do anyway, I had been
having these migraine headaches, and I had to go see about 40 doctors and
get checked out from top to bottom because, you know, it was causing me a
lot of anxiety," Seinfeld added. "It was like a headache that was bad
enough...It was paralyzing. I don't know if you've ever had the kind of
headache that makes you like you have to stop everything you're doing and
just lay down and want to scream, cry, and punch the wall. Where your best
bet would be to take a whole bunch of pills and pass out because you can't
even sit up anymore."
Evan said he's getting help. "I have this great
doctor, Dr. Lugo, in NYC and he's the best of the best. He's a surgeon and
he's checked me out from top to bottom and he's found a couple of things
that are leading up to the cause of these headaches. You know, we've got it
under control right now."
Of the tour cancellations, he said, "As
soon as you cancel a tour people think something's wrong. In 16 years we
never cancelled a tour. Most bands come out in a cushy tour bus and cancel a
tour on the first album, you know? We never cancelled a tour, but it really
wasn't a good time for me to be out. I needed to take care of my health. You
know what? I was going to do the tour and Tera put her foot down and said,
'You know what? If you go on tour I'm not going to go with you. You go by
yourself. You need to see doctors.' Thank God I have a strong woman behind
me."
|
|
12
II 2003 Evan recently told Launch that he has no problem with his
fiancée Tera Patrick's adult film past:
"I think it takes a
certain kind of person to be able to handle somebody with a somewhat checkered
past," Seinfeld said. "I've never met a woman who was able to deal with
my past, you know? Me running around with groupies and just being a guy. The
fact that my wife worked in the adult industry, she didn't do it to get famous.
She did it for the money. She didn't care about any of these guys. She worked
with some guys, she had safe sex with some guys, and she made money doing
it."
Seinfeld added, "Just because I fucked a lot of girls doesn't mean that I
care about any of them. And we've both had ex-boyfriend this and ex-girlfriend
that in relationships. I know way more women who cheat on their boyfriends or
husbands behind closed doors, who have given blowjobs to their bosses and I know
even twice as many hookers who are masquerading as strippers. At least with
[Patrick], she made her own choices, she was up front about working with
who she wanted to work with, and she did what she wanted to do."

I 2003 Danny has posted the following update to the band's official web site:
"What's
up everybody!
"Been a while since we posted anything, so much has
happened recently that I don't know where to start!! First of all, I'm very
happy to say that our new CD 'Kill Or Be Killed' has finally been
released in Europe!! It comes out in the USA on March 18th. Hope you all get a
chance to hear our new music and feel the fury!!!!!
"Next up, the tour!!
We've gotten so many e-mails regarding the US tour being cancelled, honestly,
we've rarely had to cancel anything in our career, let alone a full US tour, so
I don't know what to say except that we are very sorry to have let you down,
however, Evan's health is the most important thing to us right now,
without him or any one of us, there is no BIOHAZARD! We will be doing
some east coast dates w/ HATEBREED in late Feb, provided Evan is
feeling better, of course. We will update you on his condition as soon as
possible, expect us to make a new US tour announcement real soon.
"In
other news, Billy and I have been in the studio mixing the new live
LIFE OF AGONY CD, they recorded 2 reunion shows in NYC, it'll be coming
out later this year.

XII 2002 BIOHAZARD have rejected claims that their latest album, "Kill Or Be
Killed", has pro-war sentiment.
Billy said:"The new album is not patriotic. I
don't feel that war is the answer, although President Bush seems intent
on it. September 11's events changed the world forever. We realized we weren't
untouchable and seemed so far fetched and unbelievable that something so
fucked-up and horrendous like that could happen. It's certainly changed the
band's viewpoint on life, definitely." "I think whatever Bush feels or the government feels is irrelevant to
me," he added. "To me, war is a fucking horrendous thing. I don't think that it
should be about revenge. I want to have some hope that the world will be a
better place for my daughter. I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel and
it makes me sick when I think of how I'm going to tell my daughter that the
world is a terrible place. How do you tell a child that? It worries me."

result of guitarist Carmello Vincent Matteliano's recent emergency
surgery. Although Carmello is expected to make a full recovery, he is unable to

VI 2002 BIOHAZARD are
tentatively due to release their next studio album in October through
Sanctuary Records, according to bassist/vocalist Evan Seinfeld,
who recently sent the following update to Brave Words: "BIOHAZARD
has rejoined with one of our earliest partners in crime, Carmine Vincent
(guitar). Carmine and I had a band together right before
BIOHAZARD, around '86-'87. The split with Leo (Curley,
Vincent's predecessor) was mutual, no bad feelings. Carmine is one
of us, we grew up in Brooklyn together and he has been a great catalyst of our
new material being the most brutal and heaviest to date. We threaten the world
with possibly one of the heaviest brutal metal hardcore skank albums of all
time, purging and dirging all the fury and hatred of the fiery streets of
Brooklyn, NY. See you in the pit."

2002 BIOHAZARD have replaced guitarist Leo Curley (ex-OUTLINE,
ex-ALL MEANS NECESSARY) with former NUCLEUS axeman Carmine
Vincent. Vincent is no stranger to the BIOHAZARD camp, having
previously traveled with the group as a roadie in addition to having supported
BIOHAZARD as the bassist/vocalist for NUCLEUS during a tour of
Europe in late 2000.
Although presently unconfirmed, it appears that
Curley's departure was caused by his desire to write his own material, a
prospect which proved virtually impossible in an act that has been composing
songs as a three-piece since BIOHAZARD's split with original guitarist
Bobby Hambel in the mid-1990s.
Curley will reportedly
continue his involvement with NÄ$H, a brand new project that also
features in its ranks Preston Nash (PRIMER 55, ex-DOPE) on
vocals, guitars and percussion, Dirt (ANYTHING BUT NORMAL) on bass
and vocals, and Joe Clark (STRAIGHT JACKET) on drums.
